Daisy Petersen
Daisy Petersen is a passionate advocate for workers’ rights, a health care professional, and a single mom of two boys.
Working with seniors in her community since 2007, Daisy began her career as a resident attendant at Villa Renaissance Nursing Home (formerly Dalhousie Nursing Home) before becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse through the practical nurse program at NBCC Miramichi-Dalhousie.
Dedicated to improving the working conditions of her colleagues, Daisy has been an active member of her CUPE union local since 2007. She has served as shop steward, Vice President, and now, she is proud to be serving her second term as President.
Daisy is a lifelong East Coaster, ready to take on the big bosses and the ultra-rich making record profits off the backs of working Canadians. It’s going to take hard work and grit to overturn the systems that have been designed to work for big corporations instead of people—but Daisy is ready to go to Ottawa to advocate for her neighbours and the community that she loves.
